Privacy notice.
What personal information Studio 81 collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask me to do with it. No tracking, no advertising cookies, and your details are never sold.
01Who I am
Studio 81 is the trading name of Solomon Tourgeman, a sole trader based in the UK. I'm responsible for the personal information described here (the law calls this the "controller").
For anything about your information, contact me directly:
- Email: sol@studio81.uk
- Phone: 07944 382444
02What I collect and why
When you get in touch
If you email or call, I keep your name, contact details and what you tell me about your business, so I can reply, give you a quote and follow up. I do this because you've asked me to, and because replying to enquiries is a legitimate part of running the business.
When you book a call
Calls are booked through Calendly. It collects your name, email address and anything you add to the booking form, and sends me the details along with a calendar invitation.
The discovery questionnaire
If we work together, I may ask you to fill in a short questionnaire about your business and website. Your answers reach me by email when you press Send. While you're filling it in, your browser keeps a draft on your own device so nothing is lost if you close the page. That draft never leaves your device unless you send it, and you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
If you become a client
I keep your contact and billing details, our agreement, invoices and the project files and messages needed to do the work. I need these to carry out our contract, and the law requires me to keep financial records for tax.
When you visit this website
- There are no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising cookies on this site.
- The site is hosted by Netlify, which records standard server logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Some animation code loads from jsDelivr, a public code network, which sees your IP address in the same way.
- Your browser remembers, for the current visit only, that you've already seen the opening animation. This is deleted when you close the tab.
03Who else sees it
I never sell your information or share it for marketing. A few trusted services handle it for me, only to provide the service described:
- Google: business email.
- Calendly: call booking.
- Netlify: website hosting.
- jsDelivr: delivering website code.
- My accountant and HMRC: for tax and accounting, if you're a client.
Some of these companies store information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved contract terms.
I'd only share information with anyone else if the law required it.
04How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't go further: up to 12 months after we last spoke, then deleted.
- Client records: six years after the end of the tax year the work was done in, as tax law requires.
- Hosting logs: kept by Netlify for a short period under its own policy.
05Your rights
You can ask me to:
- send you a copy of the information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information, where I don't need to keep it by law
- stop or limit how I use it
- send your information to you or another business in a usable format
Email sol@studio81.uk and I'll reply within one month. It's free.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
06Changes
If anything here changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
